Worship While You WAIT
My relationship with Jesus is what carried me through my abstinence journey.
But it wasn’t the same surface-level relationship I had before. In the past, Jesus was present in my life, but He wasn’t truly leading it. He was my “religious side dish” instead of the main course.
But when I made the decision to fully surrender, everything changed.
Jesus became my source, my strength, my satisfaction, and my standard. My worship went to another level because my dependence on Him went to another level.
And worship became my weapon.
When lust tried to rise up, I worshiped.
When loneliness got loud, I worshiped.
When temptation felt strong, I worshiped.
When my flesh wanted what God told me to wait for, I worshiped.
Worship reminded me that I was not alone. Worship shifted my focus from what I wanted to who God is.
The truth is, abstinence is hard when Jesus is just an accessory. But when He becomes Lord, He gives you strength you cannot produce on your own.
My friend, worship while you WAIT.
Not because the waiting is always easy, but because God is always worthy.
I’m praying for you.
“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:24 ESV
