You Got This Because God’s Got You

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man.  God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 
1 Corinthians 10:13

Let me encourage you today.

You got this.

Choosing abstinence and positioning your life according to biblical standards can be uncomfortable. It can feel lonely. It can feel difficult. It can even feel like you are going against everything culture says is normal.

But remember this: you got this because God’s got you.

Many people may not understand your commitment to Christ. They may not understand why you are choosing purity. They may not understand why you are setting boundaries, saying no, and choosing to honor God with your body.

But your focus cannot be culture.

Your focus must be Christ.

I know it can be tough. Desires can be strong. Temptation can feel loud. I have been there. But this is why we must seek God’s help. Your physical strength alone cannot fight a spiritual battle.

You need the strength of the One who keeps you.

You need the grace of the One who sustains you.

You need the power of the One who has already made a way of escape.

So do not hang your head in shame because you are choosing a different path. Hold your head up. Stick your chest out. Walk with confidence. Not because you are strong enough by yourself, but because God is with you.

Say it out loud:

I got this because God’s got me.

And because God’s got me, I can honor Him with my life, my body, my choices, and my obedience.

You got this.

Because God’s got you.
