Don’t Be Fooled

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13

There are many people who believe that if there is no penetration, then there is no sex. But oral sex is still sex.

It is intimate.
It is sexual.
It awakens desires that God designed to be enjoyed within the covenant of marriage.

The Bible warns us not to stir up or awaken love before its proper time.

“I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.”
Song of Solomon 8:4

I’m about to put you all in my business for a moment. I lost my virginity to a man who regularly performed oral sex on me. At first, I may have convinced myself that there was a line I had not crossed. But after a while, it wasn’t enough. My desires had been awakened, and they could not simply be tucked away. I was overcome with lust, and eventually, lust won.

My friend, do not play with lust. You are no match for it in your own strength. Lust has taken down people stronger than you, wiser than you, and more experienced than you.

That is why boundaries are not punishment. Boundaries are protection.

Do not fool yourself into believing you can keep opening the door and never walk through it. Sexual compromise rarely starts with “all the way.” It often begins with small permissions, blurred lines, and moments we thought we could control.

But thanks be to God, He always provides a way of escape.

Take the escape.
Set the boundary.
End the relationship if you need to.
Stop entertaining what keeps pulling you away from God.
And wait.

Waiting is not about denying yourself something good. It is about trusting God’s timing, honoring His design, and protecting your heart, body, and spirit.

Oral sex is sex. Lust is real. Boundaries matter.

Set them. Keep them. And by God’s grace, WAIT.
