Practice Makes Natural

Psalm 34:1
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

The more you practice praise, the more natural it becomes.
Practice makes natural.

Praise isn’t just for the good moments.
It’s a discipline we develop—daily, intentionally, consistently.

When life is good — praise.
When life is messy — praise.
When your service is noticed — praise.
When your service goes unnoticed — praise.

Clean kitchen — praise.
Dirty dishes — praise.
Chores completed — praise.
Chores undone — praise.

Friends are plentiful — praise.
Friends are few — praise.
Job is wonderful — praise.
Job is the pits — praise.

Well-behaved children — praise.
Whiny, ungrateful children — praise.
Savings in the bank — praise.
More month than money — praise.

Marital bliss — praise.
Marital tension — praise.
Picture-perfect health — praise.
Unexpected diagnosis — praise.

Life will sometimes give you reasons not to praise,
but faith gives you a reason to praise anyway.

We don’t wait for everything to be right to praise God.
We praise Him because He is right, regardless of what life looks like.

Hebrews 13:15
“Through Him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name.”

Sometimes praise is easy.
Other times, it’s a sacrifice.

But sacrifice produces something in us—
strength, endurance, and deeper trust in God.

And here’s the truth—
whatever you practice becomes your natural response.

If you practice worry, fear will feel natural.
If you practice complaining, negativity will feel natural.
But if you practice praise…

Praise becomes your posture.
Praise becomes your reflex.
Praise becomes your stance.
Praise becomes your strength.

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

So when life hits—and it will—
your first response won’t be panic… it will be praise.
