Healing Is Humbling

Psalm 147:3 — “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

God doesn’t expose us to shame us. He exposes what needs healing.

And healing is humbling.

Because sometimes God will show you that the problem wasn’t only what happened to you. He’ll reveal the patterns you developed because of it. The walls you built. The unhealthy ways you learned to cope. The conversations you kept entertaining. The behaviors you normalized. Even the version of yourself you became just to survive.

Healing will have you questioning things you once thought were simply you.

Why do I respond like that?
Why does this trigger me?
Why am I still entertaining this?
Why did I think that was normal?
Why have I accepted this for so long?

That’s how powerful God’s healing can be.

It will have you outgrowing conversations, patterns, relationships, mindsets, and even versions of yourself you once thought were permanent.

Healing will make you confront what no longer belongs in the person Jesus is shaping you to be.

But God doesn’t uncover wounds just to leave them exposed.

Psalm 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

He reveals so He can restore.
He uncovers so He can treat.
He brings things into the light so they no longer have the power to keep us bound.

Sometimes the evidence that God is healing you is that what once felt normal no longer feels comfortable.

You don’t react the way you used to.
You recognize patterns faster.
You establish boundaries you once felt guilty for having.
You stop calling dysfunction “just the way I am.”

Healing changes your tolerance.

And somewhere along the way, you look at yourself and realize:

I don’t even recognize that version of me anymore.

That is the power of God’s healing.

He can reach into places you thought were concrete parts of your personality and show you, that wasn’t who I created you to be. That was where you were wounded.

And then He begins to bind up the wound.

Because God doesn’t just want to heal you; He wants to make you whole.

Let God’s healing take its course.
